
Carrot casserole is quite an interesting dish that you should try to cook. Potatoes, cauliflower, zucchini are usually used for it. But they do not cook with carrots, as a monocomponent. Choose high-quality, juicy and sweet-tasting root vegetables for the casserole, so that the dish turns out perfectly cooked.
Ingredients for casserole
You will need to prepare several ingredients:
- carrots - 200 g;
- white bread - 15 g;
- milk - 1 tbsp .;
- chicken egg - 1 pc.;
- butter - 15 g;
- breadcrumbs;
- salt.
How to cook
Carrots should be boiled in salted water, and then grated on a vegetable grater with straws. Meanwhile, cut off the hard edges of the bread, if any, and cover with milk. When soaked, mash with a fork. Here, add melted butter or sour cream, egg yolk. Mix everything thoroughly. At the end, add the grated carrot.
Egg whites should be whipped into a foam and carefully introduced into the main mass. When everything is ready, the mixture is poured into a mold. Sprinkle breadcrumbs on top of the casserole and put it in the oven to bake. The cooking time is 30 minutes. Casserole is served to the table with melted butter.
