After getting wet, such products become very heavy, which can damage the equipment. However, it is not necessary to contact a dry cleaner. Thanks to these tips, you can cope with the task yourself, with minimal effort.
First, fill the bathtub with warm water, the temperature of which should be approximately 40°C. Before doing this, be sure to read the recommendations on the blanket or throw label to avoid damage. Add six tablespoons of baking soda and two tablespoons of dishwashing detergent to the water. You can also use a gel or capsule for washing. Dissolve everything thoroughly in the water, then immerse the product and leave it in the water for four hours.
While soaking, rub the blanket with your hands several times to help remove dirt. If this is inconvenient, use a mop to avoid putting too much strain on your back. After soaking, drain the dirty water and rinse.

To rinse, fill a tub with clean water and hand-rinse the blanket until the water runs clear. This usually takes two to three water changes, sometimes more. After the final rinse, without lifting the item, wring it out in the tub to remove as much moisture as possible.
Next, throw the blanket over a mop or the back of a chair to let the excess water drain. Leave it in this position for about 15 minutes, but no longer to avoid an unpleasant odor. Then hang it in the open air to dry completely. You can use chairs at first to speed up the process, and when the blanket becomes lighter, move it to a line.
Once the product is completely dry, use it for its intended purpose or fold it for storage. This method is great not only for throws, but also for large blankets.
