To prepare 4-5 servings you will need:

  • 200 g long grain white rice
  • 0,5 tsp salt
  • 0,5 liters of water
  • 0,5 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 0,25 tsp cinnamon
  • 40 g raw almonds, thinly sliced
  • 150 g peas (fresh or frozen)

Preparation:

1. Pour water into a saucepan, add salt and turmeric. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Cover the saucepan with a lid to prevent the liquid from boiling over.

2. Take another pan and heat the oil in it over low heat. In the hot oil, fry the spices and almonds until the nuts turn golden brown. After that, add the rice and fry it for 2 minutes until the rice grains become translucent.

3. Pour boiling water into the rice and add the peas. Stir, increase the heat slightly and wait for it to boil completely. After that, reduce the heat, cover tightly with a lid and cook for 15-20 minutes until the water is completely absorbed. The rice should become soft and airy.

4. After that, turn off the heat, the rice should steep for at least 15 minutes. Serve hot.
