In autumn, our immune system needs all its strength to successfully fight off bacterial and viral attacks. Here's what we can do to help her work even more efficiently.
In the fall, when it's cold, damp, windy and lacks sunlight, our immune system has to work at full capacity. And in order to support it, you should not neglect even the little things - during the cold season, all means are good. Here are some tricks to help boost your immune system.
Fight stress
Chronic or simply prolonged stress has a negative effect on the immune system: the more nervous we are, the more often we get sick. Therefore, it is important to find at least five minutes every day for practices that help relax and relieve tension. Meditation, knitting, reading, massage, walks and even just a cup of tea, drunk in slow sips — everything goes!
Laugh more often
Laughter is the easiest and most effective way to relieve stress, and it also helps to strengthen the immune system. Laughter helps release the neurons that help us fight disease—it's time to choose comedy for the evening.
Sing
When we sing, not only the vocal cords and lungs are activated, but also the spleen, which helps to increase the concentration of antibodies in the blood and strengthen the immune system. If choir rehearsals or karaoke aren't your method, at least sing your heart out — but from your heart!
Do sports
Yes, physical education really strengthens our health and helps us get sick less often. You don't even have to sign up for a gym or swimming pool — it's enough to simply do exercises or interrupt your work every hour for a few squats or inclines.
And rest
Do not get too carried away with sports activities: in autumn, more than ever, we need rest days. Exercise at least every other day, and even better - twice a week. This is the optimal mode that will allow you to recover between training sessions.
Stay warm
Mom was right: the colder it is, the fewer opportunities our immune cells have to fight viruses. For this reason, keep your feet, hands, neck and head warm and don't let yourself get cold.
Eat more turmeric
The bright yellow spice helps fight migraines and cancer, and it also supports our immunity — all thanks to antioxidants, which are abundant in turmeric.
Drink tea with ginger
The most autumn and winter drink is tea with ginger, honey and lemon. It not only helps fight inflammation, but also supports our immunity, giving us strength to fight diseases.
