Borsalino is a hat that is made from a special, unusual material - the finest felt and only by hand. It is a rather valuable and elegant hat that always emphasizes the high status of its owner. It takes more than a month to make one such hat.

To test the quality of such an exclusive hat, it is put through a test: it is rolled into a tube and passed through a wedding ring. If it does not deform, then it is a genuine Borsalino hat.

The "Borsalino Test" in diplomacy means testing a person through a test. To find out whether it is worth dealing with a particular person, a test is simulated. If the test is successfully overcome, it means that the basis of trust is reliable facts, against which friendly relations can be built.

Use this method to check the quality and decency of the person you need. Moreover, it is not necessary to arrange something complicated and even more so it is not worth arranging something dangerous. A small request or a specially said phrase that helps to reveal the true character traits will be more than enough in many cases.

Test examples:

• Lend or refuse to lend and observe further actions;
• Give more money than you need, supposedly by accident, and observe the reaction;
• Refuse a monetary request and offer an in-kind replacement;
• In principle, refuse a person's request in the form in which he or she makes it and offer your own alternative;
• Do something good and useful for a person, observe their gratitude;
• Provide the person with information with a clarification of confidentiality and monitor its dissemination (or non-distribution);
• Report provocative information about yourself and observe the reaction, etc.

Test people for greed, honesty, morality, sincerity and other important qualities!

And one more important point. Some cunning manipulators know how to bypass these and many other tests of decency. They specifically rub us in the trust in order to gain our location, opportunities and resources. Do not lose your vigilance!
