The European Union Intellectual Property Office has filed a trademark application for the ID. EVERY1 trademark, filed by Volkswagen. The name, which is pronounced “everyone,” may hint at the availability of the new product. In this case, it will go to a new electric car that will occupy a niche between the ID.2All hatchback and the ID.4 crossover.
The ID.2All, shown as a concept in the spring of 2023, is set to debut at the end of 2025. Volkswagen previously promised to keep the price of the “people’s” hatchback within $25. The EVERY1 is likely to be more expensive.
Also, the name ID. EVERY1 may go to the replacement for the outgoing Volkswagen Up!, which will compete with the Hyundai Inster and Renault 4. Finally, some media believe that ID. EVERY1 is not a separate model, but a slogan for the new wave of electric Volkswagens.
It was previously reported that the German automaker would design the next ID.3 and ID.4 according to a “new design language,” making the silhouettes more traditional and adding physical buttons. It also promised increased performance and cheaper batteries.
However, despite the electric vector, Volkswagen's main profit, as before, is brought by cars with internal combustion engines.
