Ukrainian drivers are increasingly ignoring the use of turn signals, which not only violates traffic rules, but can also result in a fine. The police remind: according to Part 2, Article 122 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, failure to use the signal at the beginning of movement, during a change of direction or a turn is punishable by a fine of UAH 510.
Patrol police regularly record violations that create dangerous situations on the road and make traffic difficult for other participants.
According to traffic rules, drivers are required to turn on their turn signals in the following cases:
- at the beginning of movement or during a stop;
- before turning, U-turning or changing lanes.
It is necessary to signal in advance:
- within the city limits – at least 50–100 meters away;
- outside the city - at least 150–200 meters away.
Police officers emphasize that following this simple rule increases road safety. A timely signal about a maneuver helps avoid emergency situations and is an important element of mutual understanding between drivers.
