The Audi Q4 e-tron electric crossover debuted in 2021, and underwent a technical update two years ago. But the company seems to be undecided on what the base version should be. In 2021-2022, this role was played by the Q4 35 e-tron modification, but then it was discontinued, and the Audi Q4 40 e-tron automatically became the base one.
Last summer, the Q4 35 e-tron returned to the lineup, but lasted only six months. And now it has been replaced again by the electric car with the 40 e-tron index, but in a modified form.
All things considered, the Q4 35 e-tron turned out to be too simple even by our standards. Audi. Its traction battery had an effective capacity of 52 kWh instead of 77 kWh in other variants, the only electric motor on the rear axle produced only 170 hp and 310 Nm, and acceleration to hundreds took 9,0 s. The new version of the Audi Q4 40 e-tron looks more advantageous. Here, the traction battery with a capacity of 69 kWh and an electric motor with a capacity of 204 hp.
Acceleration time to 100 km/h has been reduced to 8,1 seconds, and the range on a single charge has increased from 355 km to 412 km. The maximum DC charging power has also been increased: 165 kW instead of 145 kW in the previous basic version.
Other new features include the ability to force the traction battery to be charged. Now the driver can independently activate the battery heating in the corresponding menu of the MMI media system. The voice assistant of the Q4 e-tron model is supplemented with the built-in artificial intelligence ChatGPT. The standard equipment of the basic version includes virtual instruments, heated front seats and an electric trunk. It is noteworthy that 19-inch steel wheels with hubcaps remain standard.
Orders for the Audi Q4 40 e-tron crossover will begin in the coming days. In Germany, such an electric car will cost 46 euros or 150 euros for the coupe-like Sportback version. The much simpler Q48150 4 e-tron cost a little less: from 35 euros.
