Research shows that some disorders and diseases associated with maturity or aging are increasingly appearing today in people aged 20-30 years. There are health problems for which you can't be too young, say scientists.

Increased pressure. Hypertension damages the heart, kidneys, blood vessels, and brain. But most people do not feel its occurrence, this health problem develops asymptomatically for a long time. Johns Hopkins University scientists note that 7% of young women aged 20 to 34 have high blood pressure.

"This rate may seem low, but the problem is that young people are much less likely to be diagnosed and cured of this disease. Without treatment, hypertension can lead to heart disease later in life and become the main cause of strokes," they warn.

Type 2 diabetes. According to Erin Michos, MD, today's younger generations, including children, have the highest rates of obesity in history. It is obesity that plays an important role in the mass appearance of young diabetics.

"Type 2 diabetes and the obesity epidemic are caused by people's lifestyles. We consume more calories, sweet drinks and fast food, we spend too much time sitting," says the scientist.

A stroke. While most cases are in people over 65, a recent study found a 32 percent spike in strokes among women ages 18 to 34. What causes this problem? Scientists answer: risk factors such as high blood pressure, diabetes, excess cholesterol in the body, obesity, and smoking have doubled among young people. For young women, taking birth control pills can be an additional condition of a stroke.

Colon and rectal cancer. The main risk factor for colorectal cancer is age - so it was believed until now. However, Nilo Azad, an oncologist at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, says this health problem has gotten much younger.

"We are seeing an increase in bowel cancer among the young population, and we don't quite understand why. Be sure to see your doctor if you see blood in your stool or notice changes in your bowel habits. The probability of colorectal cancer in young people is often estimated as low, which can hinder timely diagnosis of the disease," the oncologist noted.

It is especially important to monitor the problem for those who have a parent, brother or sister who was diagnosed with bowel cancer before the age of 50, the specialist added.

Degradation of the brain. Scientists emphasize that the habits characteristic of a person in his youth (20-25 years old) affect the processes of reducing the volume of the brain in the following years.

"If you have high blood pressure, diabetes, are overweight, or smoke, the brain may begin to shrink faster than normal, and this will affect your mental abilities," the researchers said.

They indicate: problems with blood pressure at a young age increases the amount of amyloid deposits in the brain, which are associated with the development of Alzheimer's disease.
