An unusual road sign with a black cat has appeared in Ukraine: what does it warn about?

New road signs sometimes appear so imperceptibly and frequently that drivers simply do not have time to follow them. Seeing a new symbol on the road, many simply start to get lost and panic. For example, in Dnipro the other day they noticed an unusual sign in the form of a red triangle with a black cat on a white background.

As it says "Public", this sign appeared on Volodymyr Pylyshenko Street in the Amur-Nyzhnyodniprovskyi district. It is not official and does not carry any legal consequences for drivers.

The idea to install a warning symbol came to local residents more than a year ago. All because cases of hitting pets on this street have become too frequent. Motorists have hit cats, hedgehogs and even turtles. All because they violated the speed limit, despite the presence of the appropriate sign. As a result, it was decided to additionally place a warning signal that would inform drivers about the high risk of collision with pets.

According to local residents, the appearance of the road sign with a cat did not eliminate the problem completely, but it significantly reduced the number of accidents. In this regard, they believe that its effectiveness is quite high.
