“The snowfall that continues to cover Istanbul is negatively affecting life due to the cold weather. According to meteorological data, continued snowfall and cold weather are expected throughout the city. For this reason, on Wednesday, 12.02.2025, all educational institutions in Istanbul will be suspended for one day,” the governor said in a statement.
In addition, administrative leave was granted to certain categories of employees.
“People with disabilities, people with chronic diseases, and pregnant employees of government institutions and organizations will be considered on administrative leave on Wednesday, February 12.02.2025, XNUMX,” the post states.
For some schoolchildren, this is the second day of forced holidays, as schools in nine of Istanbul's largest districts were closed in accordance with the decision of the Istanbul Governorate. According to the Turkish Meteorological Service, today an increased level of danger has been declared in three provinces in the northeast of the country (Tekirdag, Kirklareli, Istanbul) due to weather conditions, in particular snowfall, icing, and sleet.
