Thousands of people in the US protested against Trump and Musk's policies (VIDEO)

Demonstrators have taken to rallies across the United States to protest the actions of President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk.

Protesters opposed immigration crackdowns, the rollback of transgender rights, and proposals to forcibly relocate Palestinians from the Gaza Strip.

Protesters in Philadelphia and in the state capitals of California, Minnesota, Michigan, Texas, Wisconsin, Indiana, Michigan, Georgia, Texas and others marched with signs criticizing Trump and Musk, the head of Trump's new Department of Government Efficiency, as well as "Project 2025," a tough plan of action for American government and society.

The protests were the result of a movement organized online under the hashtags #buildtheresistance and #50501, which stands for 50 protests, 50 states, one day.

Demonstrations in several cities have criticized Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency. Protesters in Phoenix, Arizona, chanted "Deport Elon" and "No hate, no fear, immigrants are welcome here."

In Alabama, several hundred people gathered outside the state capitol to protest actions against LGBTQ+ people.
