At least 26 people were detained in Russia at rallies in memory of opposition politician Alexei Navalny.
This was reported by Radio Liberty with reference to human rights projects, Ukrinform reports.
It is noted that the largest number of detentions was in Novosibirsk - 10. In Moscow and Ufa, police detained three people each, and in Voronezh - two. Reports of detentions also came from Belgorod, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm, St. Petersburg, Ukhta, Ulyanovsk and Chelyabinsk.
As human rights activists note, most of the detainees were soon released without any reports being drawn up.
In addition, police officers, both in uniform and plainclothes, filmed protesters and removed memorials with flowers in several cities. In some regions, approaches to monuments were blocked.
