US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a telephone conversation on Wednesday, the FT's chief correspondent in Ukraine, Christopher Miller, reported.
Shortly after speaking with the Russian leader, Trump spoke on the phone with President Volodymyr Zelensky, a senior official in the Ukrainian president's team told the Financial Times.
The President's Office later reported that the leaders had concluded their conversation. Presidential advisor Dmytro Lytvyn said the conversation lasted about an hour.

The sides intend to discuss rare earth minerals and ending a full-scale war. Trump also added that his administration wants to “protect Ukraine’s underground resources.”
"I will probably meet with President Zelensky next week," he said.
At the same time, the American leader added that he could also talk to the Kremlin's boss, Vladimir Putin, noting that he "always had a good relationship with Putin."
In response, Zelensky recalled that one of the points of the Victory Plan is investment in minerals, so Ukraine is open to cooperation with partners.
