Trump plans to impose tariffs on goods from the EU

US President Donald Trump has announced that he intends to impose tariffs on products from the EU.

He said this on Friday, January 31, answering questions from journalists at the White House, writes the Correspondent.

“Will I put tariffs on the EU? Do you want an honest answer or a political answer? Absolutely. The EU has treated us terribly,” Trump said.

“They don’t take our cars. They don’t take our agricultural products. They basically take almost nothing. We have a huge deficit with the EU. So we will do something very significant with the EU,” he added.

Trump explained that this should allow the US to correct the trade deficit.
