When asked by reporters where the meeting with Zelensky might take place, Trump said: "Maybe in Washington."
US President Donald Trump said he could meet with Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky as early as next week and could also have a conversation with Kremlin boss Vladimir Putin. He told reporters at the White House during a meeting with Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru, European Pravda reports.
Trump also reiterated his desire to "end the war" in Ukraine.
When asked by journalists where the meeting with Zelensky might take place, Trump said: "Maybe in Washington. I'm not going there (to Europe. — Ed.)."
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that negotiations with US President Donald Trump's team are planned for next week.
"The coming weeks could be very busy in diplomacy, and we will do everything necessary to make this time effective and productive. We always value cooperation with President Trump," he noted.
According to Zelensky, meetings and negotiations at the team level are also planned.
"Ukrainian and American teams are already working out the details. A strong and lasting peace should become closer," the head of state emphasized.
