Taliban to imprison men for not having beards

The Taliban are requiring UN staff working in Afghanistan to wear beards.

This was reported by the television company Amu.tv.

The journalists' interlocutor at the UN said that representatives of the Department of Vice and Virtue came to them and issued a warning:
If men shave or trim their beards, they will go to prison. 

Women have been banned from working at the UN mission since April 2023.

The Organization complains that its work has become significantly more complicated since the Taliban came to power. The Islamists, in particular, are hindering humanitarian missions in Afghanistan.
