Subaru introduced the long-awaited hybrid Forester and the new Wilderness trim at the Chicago Auto Show.
The 2025 Subaru Forester Hybrid is equipped with a hybrid powertrain consisting of a 2,5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor. The combined system output is 194 horsepower. The hybrid system allows the car to run solely on electric power, although the electric range is limited due to the small battery capacity, NV reports.
According to Subaru, the hybrid Forester delivers significant fuel economy improvements over models equipped with an internal combustion engine only, with fuel savings of up to 40% in the city and 25% on the highway.
The Forester Hybrid is available in Touring, Limited, Sport and Premium trim levels, with prices starting at $36, including delivery.
The new Forester Wilderness trim is designed for off-road enthusiasts. The car has received increased ground clearance, a modified suspension, Yokohama Geolander off-road tires and an X-Mode Dual Mode all-wheel drive system.
The Forester Wilderness also features an aggressive exterior with dark plastic bodywork and copper accents. The vehicle is equipped with a standard 2,5-liter four-cylinder engine with 180 horsepower.
The car will go on sale in the fall of 2026. Prices for the car will be announced closer to the sales start date.
The 2025 Subaru Forester offers two interesting options for buyers. The hybrid version is suitable for those who value economy and environmental friendliness, and the Wilderness trim level will be a great choice for fans of outdoor activities and off-roading.
