Donald Trump stated this during the first meeting of his cabinet at the White House, Ukrinform reports with reference to the official broadcast.
“We intend to support the Europeans… We have a great relationship with Europe,” Trump said in response to a question about whether the United States would support sending European peacekeepers to Ukraine.
According to him, peacekeeping is "very simple, but concluding an agreement to resolve a conflict is very difficult."
"Let me negotiate peace first," the US president added.
At the same time, the head of the White House again criticized his predecessor, Joe Biden, in particular because "no one talked to Russia" to resolve differences.
"Biden did a terrible, terrible job. He should have prevented this war — and he could have prevented this war," Trump remarked.
Earlier, the media reported that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer may present a draft plan for deploying European peacekeepers to Ukraine to Donald Trump on February 27. And he would like to enlist the support of the United States in case Russia violates its commitments and attacks Ukraine again.
As Ukrinform reported, the US president said that Russian leader Putin will have to make concessions in the process of resolving the war unleashed by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
