The American and Russian sides will meet in the capital of Saudi Arabia to discuss ending the war in Ukraine as early as Tuesday.
This is reported by the Russian newspaper Kommersant, citing its own sources. According to it, the meeting will take place in Riyadh on February 18. The publication does not provide details about the composition of the Russian delegation, but the network wrote that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is preparing a visit by Sergei Lavrov.
As is known, the United States of America may be represented by Secretary of State Marco Rubio, National Security Advisor to the President Mike Woltz, and Special Envoy for the Middle East Steve Witkoff.
Negotiations in Saudi Arabia
As a reminder, President Donald Trump previously announced a meeting of senior officials from the United States, Ukraine, and Russia in Saudi Arabia. He noted that the leaders of the countries will not be present.
Details regarding the composition of the delegations and the specific date of the meeting were not disclosed, but media reported that the Russian Federation could be represented by presidential aide Yuri Ushakov and director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin.
