Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on the attack of a Russian strike drone on the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.
A drone with a high-explosive warhead hit the shelter of the destroyed power unit 4. Fortunately, the radiation level at the industrial site remains within normal limits (0,57 μSv/h).
Zelenskyy qualifies the incident as a terrorist act, which injured 30 people. According to him, the drone was flying at a low altitude (85 meters) and was not detected by radar.
Let us remind you that the elimination of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident involved 400 thousand people, and about 8 thousand residents of the Odessa region have the status of victims of the Chernobyl disaster.
