Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets has made public another communication with Russian prisoners of war before the exchange procedure.

“In the video, my Human Rights Representative in the Security and Defense Sector, Yuriy Kovbasa, and his colleagues are questioning Russians about the conditions of detention by the Ukrainian side. I emphasize once again that Ukraine strictly adheres to the Geneva Conventions,” Lubinets noted.
According to the ombudsman, among the Russians' wishes is the regular delivery of letters and parcels, as well as regular exchanges of prisoners of war.
"Ukraine is interested in these same initiatives and procedures. Therefore, I hope that the Russians will convey these same wishes to the competent authorities on that side, and the ignoring of the initiatives requested by the prisoners of war held in Ukraine themselves will cease," Lubinets emphasized.
