- Flexis has introduced three new commercial vans for Europe.
- The platform will offer a range of up to 450 km.
- The company is a joint venture between Renault, Volvo Group and CMA CGM.
Flexis Mobility emerged on the scene last year as a joint venture between Renault Group, Volvo Group and transport company CMA CGM. Last year, Renault unveiled the Estafette van concept, and tNow we can see the fruits of another collaboration, as the joint venture has introduced three new commercial vans.
All three vans, designed to modernize urban logistics, are based on the electric board platform and share a common electronic architecture. The models also feature a customizable interior and a low floor height that makes it easier to load and unload packages.
Flexis predicts that customers can expect a range (WLTP) of up to 450 km, as well as a fast charging option that can provide 80% charge in less than 20 minutes. The company also paid attention to ergonomics and driver safety, as the driver's seat has been specially positioned to reduce the strain on the knees. This is important as drivers may have to get up and down 250 times a day.
Van versions
The brand didn’t go into details, but their base model is a mid-size van with sliding front doors. It also has a rear door, which is described as a “first for the European market.” There’s easy access between the cab and the cargo area, and the 1900mm height means drivers can walk around easily inside.
The Cargo Van is an urban last-mile delivery vehicle that features an “easily convertible body” that is “capable of integrating different widths, heights and platforms, as well as modular solutions, including but not limited to.” The model also features traditional front doors as well as a low cab height.
The Panel Van is perhaps the most interesting of the three, as it looks set to challenge the industry heavyweights. Flexis claims the model will have excellent maneuverability, an overall height of 1900mm and a “multi-purpose design [that] takes into account all the limitations of current market offerings.” It also looks pretty good, which is a bit surprising for a commercial vehicle.
The vans will be manufactured at Renault's Sandouville plant, with first deliveries scheduled for 2026. Flexis will sell the vehicles directly to fleets and logistics providers, but they will also supply them to Renault, which will "distribute them under its brands across its network."
Twenty prototypes have been built and have already clocked up over 20 hours since March of last year. Flexis also said it has received ten letters of intent from logistics providers in France, Germany and the UK, including Colis Privé, DB Schenker, HIVED.
