- The Brazilian version of the Renault Duster has received minor updates for the 2026 model year.
- The crossover is based on the second-generation Dacia Duster.
- It is available with 1.6 SCe and 1.3 TCe flex engines.
The third-generation Dacia Duster debuted in 2023, but Brazil has decided to continue assembling the second-generation model under the Renault brand. The popular compact crossover has received several updates for the 2026 model year, which means that its sales in the South American market will not be discontinued anytime soon.
The second-generation Dacia Duster debuted back in 2017, although Brazilian production of its Renault-branded counterpart only began in 2020. While the European-spec model was updated in 2022, the Brazilian version was slow to catch on, receiving a facelift only in 2024. Even now, as markets like Turkey and South Africa get the next-generation Renault Duster, Brazil will be using the previous model.
Design
Changes for the 2026 MR are limited to minor details, such as the use of a shark fin antenna, a gloss black roof with a matching grille, and standard LED headlights across the lineup.
The most popular Iconic Plus trim, powered by a 1,3-liter turbocharged engine, has received several additional visual upgrades, including gloss black 17-inch Tergan alloy wheels, Megalith Grey skid plates and roof rails.
For off-road enthusiasts, an optional Outsider Pack is available. It consists of additional lights mounted on the front bumper and additional side moldings.
Nothing has changed inside, the crossover remains with an analog instrument panel and an 8-inch infotainment display.
Engines
The Renault Duster is available in Brazil with a naturally aspirated 1,6-liter SCe gasoline engine with 120 hp or a more powerful 1,3-liter TCe turbocharged engine that produces 163 hp when running on ethanol. The former can be combined with a manual transmission or a CVT, while the latter is available exclusively with the XTronic CVT automatic transmission. Notably, all versions of the Brazilian Duster models are front-wheel drive.
Pricing for the 2026 Renault Duster starts at R$132 ($990) and goes up to R$22 ($900), making it slightly more expensive than the 167 model.
Interestingly, in addition to the second-generation Duster, Brazil also has more rarities that are still being produced. This is the Renault Oroch pickup truck.
This four-door version of the first-generation Duster has been on the market since 2015, with a longer wheelbase and a redesigned rear end to accommodate a cargo bed. It was updated in 2022, but inside it's still the first-generation Duster with a different mission, one that clearly still has an audience in Brazil.
