Vladimir Putin spoke at an expanded meeting of the FSB board of the Russian Federation
Vladimir Putin noticed "pragmatism" and a "realistic view of things" in the actions of Donald Trump's administration.
Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is positive about the "first contacts" with the new US administration, he said at an expanded meeting of the FSB board on Thursday, February 27.
"The first contacts with the new American administration inspire certain hopes. There is a positive mood to work on restoring interstate relations, on gradually resolving the colossal volume of systemic strategic problems that have accumulated in the world architecture," he said.
According to Putin, these problems "at one time provoked both the Ukrainian and other regional crises." And the current US leadership demonstrates "pragmatism, a realistic view of things, abandoning many stereotypes, so-called rules, and messianic ideological clichés of its predecessors, which led to the crisis of the entire system of international relations."
The Kremlin leader believes that such clichés "have begun to destroy the Western community from within."
"This is evidenced by the problems in the economy of many Western countries, in domestic politics. We see all this. This is especially clearly manifested in the course of domestic political events in these countries," the dictator added.
