Transnistria has begun receiving credit gas from Moldova, guaranteed by the EU. The unrecognized republic's president, Vasyl Krasnoselsky, thanked European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

According to him, the supply began at 8:30 a.m. The left bank of the Dniester is supplied with gas that is already in the pipelines on the right bank, and the volumes currently being pumped into the Transnistria pipeline system are sufficient "to maintain pressure."

On January 29, Moldovagaz signed a gas supply agreement with Tiraspoltransgaz. According to the terms of the agreement, the latter company must return this volume of gas by March 1 or pay for it.
Moldovan Prime Minister Dorin Recan announced that the European Commission would allocate 30 million euros for the purchase of gas for "Transnistria" from February 1 to 10. He later announced that the government had concluded a new agreement with the European Union, and Moldova would receive twice as much as initially announced - not 30 million, but 64 million.
