Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, who serves as the head of NATO's Military Committee, arrived in Kyiv this week. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited him to visit one of the defense enterprises that produces long-range weapons. He reported this on the microblogging service X.
Zelenskyy discussed with Dragone preparations for the next Ramstein meeting, which will be chaired by the UK for the first time. It will take place on February 12. In addition, they talked about investments in the production of long-range strike drones.
The President showed the NATO representative Ukrainian Peklo cruise missiles, capable of hitting targets at a distance of 700 km. Thanks to a jet rocket engine, they can reach a speed of 700 km/h.
The Peklo drone missile was developed by the Ukrainian defense industry over the course of a year. According to the head of the Ministry of Statistics and Industry, Herman Smetanin, the Defense Forces have already successfully used the product in real combat conditions. The Peklo cruise missiles are mass-produced in Ukraine.
