Volkswagen has introduced the updated Golf GTI and Golf R models for the 2025 model year. The starting price of the Golf GTI is $32445 for the base S trim level, the SE version is offered for $37420. The top-of-the-line Autobahn version will cost $40. The more powerful Golf R starts at $880, and the exclusive Black Edition version is priced at $47100.
Two new colors have appeared in the palette - Alpine Silver Metallic and Slate Blue Metallic. The Golf GTI is equipped with 18-inch aluminum wheels. The interior features a new Carbon Gray decorative panel and a 12,9-inch touch display running on the updated MIB3 platform, as well as physical buttons instead of touch elements on the steering wheel. The wireless charging system has been improved and new driver assistants have been added.
The GTI SE version features 18-inch R-design alloy wheels, automatic high beams and new Clubsport ArtVelours sports seats. An optional leather package with power adjustments, memory settings and ventilation for the front seats is offered for $1. The SE also includes a panoramic sunroof, a Harman/Kardon premium audio system and KESSY keyless entry.
Golf R 2025 received a power plant of 328 hp and is now the most powerful serial Golf in history. Externally, the model stands out with new 19-inch forged wheels, which are 20% lighter than their predecessors, as well as a modified front end with updated lighting. The interior features an improved multimedia system with a 12,9-inch screen, premium Harman/Kardon acoustics, Nappa leather sports seats with memory settings and ventilation, as well as a new dashboard with decorative inserts.
The Golf R Black Edition gets a black exterior finish, including wheel rims, logos and decorative elements. Three body colors are available: Mythos Black Metallic, Pure White and Lapiz Blue Metallic. The interior features carbon fiber inserts, as well as darkened optics and black brake calipers with the R logo. For lovers of classics, Volkswagen offers the Euro Style Package for $3, which includes fabric seats, a sunroof and an Akrapovic titanium exhaust system.
