Growing pepper seedlings does not always go as you would like. Often the reasons are improper lighting or the wrong temperature. But if they are normal, then what else can slow down plant growth? Lack of nutrients. Therefore, it is necessary to feed pepper seedlings in a timely and correct manner. And for this it is not necessary to buy some expensive fertilizer, because you can prepare high-quality top dressing yourself.
The basis of the “elixir” are products that housewives usually throw away. For example, banana peels are rich in potassium, and eggshells are rich in calcium. It is enough to pour water over them, leave for a few days, and you will have effective and natural nutrition. To make the fertilizer even more effective and stimulate root development, add ash to it, which is rich in trace elements.

Preparing homemade top dressing is very simple. Take 2-3 banana peels and cut them into small pieces. Also, chop the shells of 4-5 eggs and add a few tablespoons of ash. Pour 1 liter of boiling water over all this and let it brew for 3-4 days in a warm place with a closed lid. It is best to do this in a large jar so that nothing spills out. And the mixture must be stirred periodically during the infusion.
The finished concentrate is not suitable for watering. First, it must be strained through a fine sieve or gauze and diluted with water: 5 liters per 1 liter of “elixir”. A concentrated solution will not help the seedlings, but on the contrary will harm them, because too many nutrients are bad for the roots. The first watering should be carried out when 2-3 true leaves appear on the seedlings. You can also spray the leaves with the solution once every 2-3 weeks.
