Pasta is one of the most popular products that is present on the table of almost every family. They take their place not only in traditional Italian dishes, but also in the everyday menu of many Ukrainians. However, not everyone knows how to cook pasta correctly so that it does not stick together and has the perfect texture. We share life hacks with you.
It is best to use a large saucepan with plenty of water – about 2 litres per 200g of pasta. This will allow the pasta to “float” freely in the hot water and not stick together. It is also important that the water is well salted. It is usually recommended to add 1-1,5 tablespoons of salt for every litre of water.

Once the water is boiling, add the pasta and don’t forget to stir constantly, especially at the beginning. After you’ve added the pasta, the water should start boiling again, and then you should set the timer for the time indicated on the package. This time may vary on different products, so pay attention to this. When the time is up, drain the pasta in a colander and season with butter to taste.
Pasta al dente
Al dente is the state of pasta when it is cooked but still a little firm. This term comes from the Italian expression al dente, which means “to the tooth”. To cook this type of pasta, you need to cook it for 1-2 minutes less than indicated on the package. Once the pasta is cooked, immediately drain it in a colander to drain the water. There is no need to rinse it.

Little tricks from housewives: you can add 1 teaspoon of olive oil to the water during cooking. This way, the pasta will not stick together. Always choose only pasta made from durum wheat varieties - they hold their shape well. Do not leave the dish unattended during cooking, the pasta must be stirred. By following these recommendations, you will definitely get a good result. We wish you success!
