A recipe for those who are not "friends" with dough, but love homemade pies very much. We suggest baking pita pie with potatoes and cheese. Such a cake is prepared very simply and from available products. Lavash pie can be served for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Ingredients:

  • thin Armenian pita bread
  • 700 g potatoes
  • 150-200 g of hard cheese,
  • onion
  • 1 tsp sugar,
  • salt, pepper - to taste
  • greens as desired
  • 3 eggs
  • 2-3 tbsp. sour cream or mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 100 g drained. oil
  • growth oil for lubricating the mold.

Recipe:

1. Pour water over the peeled potatoes, add salt, put on fire and cook until ready.

2. Finely chop the onion and fry it in a pan. We put the pan on the fire, add more than half of the butter, sugar to the onion and fry the onion until golden.

3. Drain the water from the boiled potatoes and, in a convenient way for you, mash the potatoes without leaving any lumps. Add fried onions to mashed potatoes, salt and pepper to taste, add sour cream. Beat 2 eggs and pour them into the potatoes. Mix the puree thoroughly. If desired, you can add chopped greens to the puree.

4. Grease a baking dish with oil.

5. We put a large sheet of thin pita bread in the prepared form so that we have sides on three sides, and on the fourth side the pita bread was of such a size that it was enough to cover the entire pie from above, forming the upper crust.

6. Spread the mashed potatoes on the pita bread and spread it evenly, filling the mold evenly. Place a sheet of pita bread on top of the puree, the size of which corresponds to the size of the mold.

7. Tremo hard cheese on a large grater. Sprinkle the grated cheese on the pita bread, which was placed on the mashed potatoes.

8. Cover the prepared pie with the hanging side of pita bread, carefully tucking the edges between the mold and the pie.

9. Beat the egg with milk and brush the top of the pie with this mixture.




10. Bake the pie at medium temperature until golden brown.

11. Grease the finished hot cake with butter and send it to the turned off oven until it cools down.

12. Remove the finished warm cake from the mold, cut it into pieces and serve it on the table.
