The new Volkswagen Transporter T7 has gone on sale in Europe just in time for the model's 75th anniversary. The commercial model has been launched in diesel and electric versions, priced from €36.
The Volkswagen T7 in the Transporter and Caravelle versions now have nothing in common with the VW Multivan - they are now separate models. The Transporter is based on the Ford Transit platform.
The model is offered in cargo, cargo-passenger and passenger (for 6-9 seats) versions with a length of 5,05 and 5,45 m with standard and increased height. The carrying capacity has increased to 1,33 tons, and the volume of the cargo compartment of the van is from 5,8 to 9 cubic meters. m. The car can also tow a trailer weighing 2,5-2,8 tons.
All Volkswagen Transporter and Caravelle models have a digital instrument cluster, a 13-inch touchscreen, and a suite of safety features. Keyless entry, three-zone climate control, and a Harmann Kardon sound system with 14 speakers are available as options.
The 2,0-liter turbodiesel Volkswagen T7 is offered in versions with a capacity of 110, 150 and 170 hp. It is available with a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission, and four-wheel drive is offered for an additional fee. There is also an off-road version of the Panamericana with a plastic body kit.
The Volkswagen eTransporter electric car costs from 46 euros and is available in 213, 115, 136 and 218 horsepower versions. All of them have a battery with a capacity of 286 kWh.
The 2026-horsepower plug-in hybrid Volkswagen Caravelle eHybrid will also be launched in 223. It will cost from 46 euros.
