The current generation of the popular hybrid Nissan Leaf, which is a classic hatchback, has been on the market for eight years. But soon this model of the Japanese automaker will undergo a radical redesign. On the eve, the insider press named the approximate dates of the premiere of the new generation Leaf, UAmotors reports.
What is known about the novelty
BestCarWeb magazine, citing its own sources within Nissan, claims that the premiere of the next Leaf will take place this fall. The car, which is expected to undergo radical design changes, is expected to be presented in October.
The next generation of Nissan's iconic hybrid is expected to change form factor from a regular 5-door hatchback to a crossover with a coupe-like profile. The exterior of the car is expected to resemble the Chillout concept car, which was unveiled in November 2021.
In addition to significant external changes, the new Leaf may get a revised technical part, which is hinted at by the compact hood of test prototypes of this model.
It is believed that the car will be powered by a small 225 horsepower transmission, dubbed a "three-in-one."
It will include a motor, inverter, and battery, which will eliminate the problem of unstable charging while driving that occurs in the current model.
The new Japanese hybrid cross-coupe will be 4,5 meters long, 1,8 meters wide, and 1,7 meters high. The distance between the axles of the car will be 2,8 meters.
The approximate cost of the car in its homeland will be from 5 to 5,5 million yen. This is approximately 1,4 to 1,5 million hryvnias.
