In the new season, Wednesday does not betray herself and promises even more torture and horror.

Netflix has released a teaser for the second season of the series Wednesday, starring Jenna Ortega. The sequel is set to premiere in late 2025, but no release date has been announced yet. Judging by the first footage, the younger Adams will face the monster Tyler, who has been locked up in Willow Hill Mental Hospital by the authorities.

"This season, Wednesday's journey is darker and more complex as she confronts family, friends, new secrets, and old adversaries, fast-forwarding into another year in Nevermore," showrunners and executive producers Al Gough and Miles Millar told Tidumi.

In addition to Jenny Ortega, the second season also starred Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), and Luis Guzman (Gomez Addams). Tim Burton remains the director and executive producer.

"This season will be bigger and more complicated than you could ever imagine," promises Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The actress's words echo those of Gough and Millar.

“We look forward to exploring more stories about the Addams Family and are excited to introduce an eclectic cast of incredible new characters,” say the executive producers.

The series will continue to reveal the supernatural secrets of Wednesday Addams during her studies at Nevermore Academy.

"Season 2 is going to be wonderfully dark, crazy, and mysterious. If we told you why, Wednesday would kill us. So our lips are sealed," the writers tease.

When the series was renewed for a second season in January 2023, the show promised more "torture" in the teaser video.

“Wednesday sticks to her principles and doesn’t try to please anyone. Which, as someone who used to be a huge people pleaser, I really respect,” Ortega said in February 2023.

In addition to the "old" cast, viewers will see new faces in the new season, including Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor. You can also expect new guest stars: "Addams Family" actor Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O'Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo and Jonas Suotamo.

The series was filmed in Ireland.
