The popularity of electric cars is growing, but buyers of used cars should pay attention to their reliability. WhatCar experts analyzed the condition of used electric cars and identified three models that break down most often.
MG4 EV (2022 – present)
This model topped the anti-rating with the lowest level of reliability — 63,8%. Close 30% of owners complain about numerous malfunctions. The most common problems are related to electronics, interior trim quality, bodywork and electric motor. There are also failures in the navigation system, multimedia, transmission, air conditioning and battery.
Vauxhall Corsa Electric (2019–present)
Second place on the list is Vauxhall Corsa Electric with reliability index 72,2%Owners report disruptions in electronic systems, reduced battery efficiency, and transmission problems.
Porsche Taycan (2020 – present)
In third place was the premium Porsche TaycanDespite the rating 76,2%, it is not without its drawbacks. The main ones include electronics failures, battery malfunctions, as well as problems with the transmission and other systems.
The study shows that even modern electric vehicles can have significant technical flaws, so it is worth carefully checking their condition and service history before purchasing.
