Authoritative publication Consumer Reports announced the list of the best cars of 2025, covering various segments of the automotive market. This year, the top ten is dominated by Japanese brands that demonstrate high quality, reliability and innovative technologies, informs Autopilot.
Nissan Sentra – the best compact sedan

The best compact sedan was the Nissan Sentra, known for its economy and comfort. The mid-size car segment was won by the Toyota Camry, which in its new generation is offered exclusively with a hybrid system.
Subaru Crosstrek – the best small crossover

In the small crossover category, the leader was the Subaru Crosstrek, known for its off-road capability and comfortable interior. Among compact SUVs, experts singled out the Subaru Forester, and the most economical SUV was named the Toyota RAV4 PHEV - a plug-in hybrid with a long electric range.
Toyota Highlander Hybrid – the best mid-size SUV

The Toyota Highlander Hybrid won the mid-size SUV category, with its fuel efficiency and spacious interior. The Lexus NX won the premium compact crossover category, while the BMW X5, available with both conventional and hybrid engines, won the mid-size luxury category.
Tesla Model Y – the best electric car

The title of best electric vehicle went to the Tesla Model Y, a dynamic crossover with a long range and access to the Supercharger network. The Ford Maverick won the compact pickup category, which stands out for its good handling and the availability of a hybrid version with low fuel consumption.
