The most anticipated new car of 2025 has been spotted during winter testing, revealing more hidden design secrets ahead of its official debut later this year. The upcoming Jaguar Type GT, which the brand calls one of its most ambitious models in its history, has been revealed in new images, revealing even more details about its design.
Unlike the official prototype photos Jaguar released last year, these spy shots give us a better look at the car's impressive proportions. Despite the thick layer of camouflage, the model's considerable width is immediately noticeable.
Other elements, such as the exposed upper part of the doors, suggest sharp shoulder lines and hidden handles, located under small windows with frameless glass. The front of the car remains well camouflaged for now, and the test model is equipped with temporary headlights. However, it is clear that the long hood will be located low above the wheels, giving the car the promised elegant silhouette shape.
Innovative design solutions
The most interesting angle is the rear of the car. Unlike the Type 00 concept, presented in December in Miami, the production version has a clearly defined trunk lid, rather than the classic fastback shape. The upper part of the car is hidden by additional elements, which makes it difficult to determine the true roof line. You can also notice a rear-view camera, which will probably be used for a digital rear-view mirror. Whether the GT will have a rear window is still unknown, but the technology to do without it is already present.
The model is expected to inherit the horizontal LED headlight lines from the Type 00 Concept, which can be barely seen through the camouflage. The lower bumper also hides aerodynamic solutions aimed at reducing the drag coefficient.

A new stage in Jaguar's development
This car will mark the beginning of a new era for Jaguar, as the company is ending production of all current models to make a full transition to a premium electric range, with the first of these being the £130 four-door GT, which will go on sale in late 000.
The new electric car is built on the Jaguar Electric Architecture platform, which will underpin three future models from the brand. The company promises a range of around 700 km and ultra-fast charging, which will add 320 km of range in just 15 minutes.
Jaguar's main goal is to move into the luxury segment, leaving the mass market behind. According to JLR CEO Adrian Mardell, the company's new direction is a necessity:
“For the last ten years, we have been aiming for the mass market, but our cars have not been unique enough. Now is the time to do something special – to create a modern luxury brand without limitations.”

Emotions, style and technology
The main feature of future Jaguars will be a unique design that will evoke an emotional response from drivers. The company's CEO Rawdon Glover said that the new models will not be like other electric cars designed in wind tunnels to reduce drag:
“We will go a different way – our cars will impress with their appearance and the emotions they evoke.”
Glover also confirmed that all future Jaguars will be purely electric, with no hybrid or petrol versions.
“In the premium segment, the key factors are not the engine, but design, comfort and handling. Our customers are looking for this.”
Changes at Jaguar are occurring simultaneously at the brand and product levels, and the company's management is confident in the correctness of the chosen course.
