Russian presidential aide Nikolai Patrushev said that NATO's actions in the Baltic Sea are aimed at blocking Russia and paralyzing the operation of ports in the Leningrad and Kaliningrad regions of the Russian Federation. This was reported by Russian media on Thursday, February 6.

He complains that such actions “undermine the security” of maritime transport and the global merchant shipping system.
The statement was made at a meeting on the safety of sea and river navigation in Nizhny Novgorod, which was held on behalf of Vladimir Putin.
