Mercedes-Benz of the future could get wheels with displays. The company recently patented a technology that would allow you to change the appearance of wheel rims to any taste, limited only by the shape of the screen.
The image on electric cars will be adjustable using the multimedia system, voice control, a mobile application, and even directly through screens on the wheels. According to the patent, the screen can cover the entire wheel, only part of it, or even go over the spokes.
The screens will be supplemented with sensors that measure the speed and acceleration of each wheel. This will allow you to keep the picture in a vertical position while driving, and will also give room for imagination: for example, animated flames will tilt in the right direction when driving forward, turning and braking. It will also be possible to “fill” the wheels with virtual water.
Animations of varying complexity are also provided – a person running, or different colors and patterns that change depending on speed. Generative AI will be able to create images based on voice requests.
