British doctors have told about three drinks that help control blood sugar levels, Ukr.Media reports.
In type 2 diabetes, the body struggles to produce enough insulin. When this happens, blood sugar levels can rise to dangerous levels, which can lead to complications. To reduce the risk of this, doctors recommend cutting back on salt, fatty and processed foods, and sugar.
Studies have shown that tea is a simple way to prevent or slow the progression of this disease. Scientists noted that more observations are needed to understand which tea is better in this regard: black or green.
The second drink, according to doctors, is tomato juice. Japanese scientists conducted an experiment involving 481 participants. The volunteers drank this juice for a year. The study found that 94 subjects with hypertension had an average blood pressure drop of 3%. Blood sugar levels also improved.
And the list closes with kombucha, which has a positive effect on both blood pressure and sugar levels. Other examples of fermented foods include kimchi, miso, tempeh, and natural yogurt. Alcoholic beverages do not cause type 2 diabetes, but they do lead to weight gain, which increases the risk of this disease. Doctors also advise avoiding beer, cider, and ale and opting for dry wine in moderation.
