After 40, it's worth starting a few morning habits for a long life, said nutritionist Mary Sabat.
She called regular exercise in the morning the most important factor in losing weight in old age. She advised combining cardio (walking, jogging or cycling) with strength training.
According to Sabat, it's important for people over 40 to build muscle mass through exercise because it tends to decrease with age.
After 40, she continued, it is necessary to establish new eating habits — breakfast should include lean proteins, whole grain products, healthy fats and a large amount of fruits and vegetables.
"Protein-rich foods require a lot of energy to digest and provide satiety, while whole foods support blood sugar levels, preventing a slowdown in metabolism," Sabat explained.
After all, the nutritionist stressed, mental health should not be neglected, since chronic stress leads to hormonal imbalance, which negatively affects metabolism and contributes to weight gain. She recommended managing stress through meditation, deep breathing, yoga, or a favorite hobby that can be done in the morning or at any time of the day.
