According to a nutritionist, grapes can be safely called the most dangerous berry for people over 60.
The doctor said in an interview that the passion for grapes can negatively affect the work of the elderly body. Speaking about the fact that grapes provoke health problems in people after the age of 60, she noted: this vegetable product has a high glycemic index, that is, after its use, the blood sugar level can immediately rise sharply.
"This berry is contraindicated for diabetics and is even considered dangerous. Many elderly people suffer from insulin resistance or diabetes, so it is better for them not to eat grapes," the nutritionist shared.
The doctor added that if the body is sensitive to the components of grapes, eating them can lead to exacerbation of gastritis, ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract. In particular, after its use, gastric juice begins to be secreted more intensively.
If you have kidney failure, you can't eat grapes either. This contraindication is associated with the high content of potassium in its berries.
"Products rich in this element cannot be consumed with kidney failure," the expert emphasized.
