The plane carrying the US Secretary of State made an emergency return to Washington due to problems with the windshield.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Jim Risch were forced to return to Washington by plane due to a technical malfunction. They were heading to Germany to participate in the Munich Security Conference. The Associated Press reported this on Friday, February 14. The incident occurred late in the evening of February 13. Approximately 90 minutes after takeoff, the C-32 aircraft, a converted Boeing 757, had a problem with the windshield in the cockpit. In this regard, the plane was forced to return to the military base.
The US State Department noted that Rubio intends to continue his trip to Germany and the Middle East on a separate plane.
The publication writes that it is currently unclear whether the delay will affect the planned meeting between Secretary of State Rubio and US Vice President JD Vance with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, which is scheduled to take place on the morning of February 14 in Munich.
