China sends 30 fighter jets to Taiwan

The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) has sent 30 combat aircraft and 8 navy and coast guard ships to patrol around Taiwan.

The Taiwanese defense ministry reported this on the X network, Ukrinform reports.

It is noted that 23 Chinese aircraft crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait, which is considered the unofficial border between the mainland and the island, and entered Taiwan's northern, southwestern and eastern air defense zones, mainly the part of the island where its capital, Taipei, is located.

The Taiwanese Defense Ministry records the activity of 12-15 PLA aircraft and ships near the island almost daily, which are training to carry out various elements of military operations against Taiwan (air and naval attacks, blockade of the island, etc.).

Although Taiwan has never been part of the PRC and has been governed by its own administration since its proclamation in 1949, the Chinese communist government considers the island to be its province, threatening to use military force to "reunify" it with the mainland.
