Russia's ultimate goal in the war is to wipe Ukraine off the map of the world, Czech President Petr Pavel said during the "Support Ukraine" plenary session.

"All these three long years, when the Russian Federation unleashed a full-scale war against Ukraine, I have no doubt that the ultimate goal of this aggression is to wipe Ukraine off the map of the world. I want to say that the Ukrainians are invincible. They deserve not only our help, but also our admiration," he said.

The President of the Czech Republic noted that all allies strive for lasting peace in Ukraine, but not peace at any cost.

“A peace that is built on the humiliation of the victim, when we reward Russia for aggression, will not be true peace, but betrayal,” Pavel emphasized.

The Czech President stressed that any agreement must be acceptable to Ukraine and be conducted with Ukraine's participation. He added that any negotiations must begin with a clear recognition of who is the aggressor and who is the victim, and "there is no room for ambiguity here."

Pavel also emphasized in his address to Volodymyr Zelenskyy that the Ukrainian leader is a president democratically elected by Ukrainians, and his legitimacy is beyond doubt.

“We cannot weaken this leadership. We must guarantee stability and resilience… You are a symbol of this resilience,” he emphasized.

Pavel added that it is a "collective duty" to ensure that Ukraine survives the war unleashed by the Russian Federation.

“Without peace in Ukraine, there can be no lasting peace in Europe. We need to come together and act now. Containing Russia is the only way to move forward,” Pavel emphasized.
