"This doesn't have to become a never-ending story."
US President Donald Trump's special representative for the war in Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said that a peace agreement would be beneficial for all parties, as well as for the United States itself, Fox News reports.
"I want to start the countdown to 100 days and understand where we are - is it still a ceasefire or is it already peace. I think it all depends on what is realistically possible. But this will not be a repeat of Afghanistan, where the process dragged on for four years. This should not turn into a never-ending story," Kellogg said.
According to him, the decision to end the Russian-Ukrainian war should be quick and beneficial not only for Kyiv and Moscow, but also for the US and the rest of the world.
Previously, "Suspilne", citing a source in the Office of the President of Ukraine (OPU), reported that the Special Representative of the United States of America for Ukraine and Russia, Keith Kellogg, will visit Ukraine at the end of February.
Keith Kellogg was scheduled to visit Kyiv in early January. However, on January 7, media reported that he had postponed his planned trip to Kyiv in early January until after Trump's inauguration. The source did not provide any reasons for the postponement of the special envoy's trip.
