- Jeep has released new details about the Recon.
- The electric crossover will have off-road packages.
- The Recon will run on the STLA Large platform and will have up to 600 hp.
The 4 Recon 2026xe was featured in Jeep's Super Bowl commercial, so it's no surprise that the company has launched a new webpage dedicated to it, revealing not only new photos of the upcoming electric vehicle, but also a few details.
The new model is expected to debut later this year, and Recon promises a “reimagined design” and a “luxurious interior.” The company also talked about “adaptive cargo options, practical features, and intuitive entertainment features.”
While last year's Wagoneer S electric SUV was focused on the city, the Jeep Recon will feature a Trail Rated Moab trim. There will also be a range of off-road packages that will allow drivers to "drive off-road."
Although the Recon and Wagoneer S are aimed at different customers, they will likely share powertrains. This means we can expect a 100,5 kWh battery pack powering a dual-motor all-wheel drive system with 500 hp (373 kW) and 710 Nm of torque. There could also be a more powerful 600 hp (447 kW) and 836 Nm of torque option. Regardless of the final figures, the range will be around 483 km.
The Recon was unveiled in 2022, and the company said at the time that the model would be “offered exclusively as a BEV.” Jeep also said the vehicle would have removable doors and a power-operated roof that opens with a single touch.
Other key features include Selec-Terrain traction control, electronic locking axle technology, underbody protection, tow hooks, and aggressive off-road tires. There will also be a Uconnect infotainment system that will provide “detailed guides to the most challenging off-road terrain.”
