
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he would destroy the Hamas group and return all hostages held in Gaza, The Times of Israel reported.
“We have seen again what monsters Hamas is. These are the same monsters who killed our citizens and abused our prisoners,” Netanyahu said.
He assured that the government would do everything possible to return all hostages remaining in Gaza. He said he had instructed the Israeli negotiating team to demand their safety.
“But beyond that, President Trump completely agreed with me: we will do everything to return all the hostages, but Hamas will not be there. We will destroy Hamas and return all our prisoners,” the politician added.

On January 18, it became known that the Israeli government had approved a ceasefire agreement with Hamas. The agreement was ratified after more than six hours of deliberations. Out of 33 ministers, 24 voted in favor, 8 voted against.
The deal, which was reached between Israel and Hamas, calls for the release of 33 of the 98 Israeli and foreign hostages held in Gaza during an initial six-week phase in exchange for thousands of Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails.
