The Israel Defense Forces attacked a number of Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. The attack was triggered by a violation of the ceasefire between the countries. This was reported on Sunday, February 16, by the IDF Telegram channel.
The agency explained that Israel carried out precise strikes in the area where Hezbollah militant activity was recorded. The military destroyed rocket launchers and weapons.
"Terrorist activity at these sites is a violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon," the statement said.
"The IDF continues to act to eliminate any threat to the State of Israel," the military added.
A ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah came into effect at the end of November 2024. Under the terms of the agreement, Israel pledged to withdraw its troops from Lebanese territory within 60 days, while Hezbollah militants must also withdraw from southern Lebanon.
