Coffee, toilet breaks and even smoke breaks have long been used to help employees cope with the drudgery of the workday. A British company executive has taken it a step further in her quest to make the grind of work easier and stress-free. Erika Last, the owner of a Barcelona-based adult entertainment company, is offering her employees daily half-hour breaks for self-pleasure.
This unconventional initiative became a permanent policy in 2022 after a trial run to see if it could relieve stress caused by Covid lockdowns. The innovation proved so successful that employees even admitted they felt “less aggressive” and were “more productive.”
There are masturbation breaks. If you need a break, you are always invited to take one. It takes away the anxiety. I value my employees and know that when they feel good, we work well.
Last added that “there’s nothing more detrimental to a successful work environment than stress.” “I set up a separate room in the office that we call a ‘masturbation station’ to provide them with a safe, comfortable space. But taking a masturbation break isn’t just about trying to help my employees feel better during these difficult times. I also wanted to do something to normalize masturbation on a larger scale. Sexual well-being is closely linked to overall mental and physical health, and should be treated with equal respect and resources.”
